Calming Techniques:

Calming is the direct intervention within yourself or another to slow yourself or the other down.

  • Listen to the caller
  • Remain calm, calm the caller, calm responders
  • Guide the caller
  • Provide reassurance
  • Persist in repetition
  • Give the caller something to do
